Sakura Spa
Redesign of Sakura Spa's website, creating a clean, modern design that effectively communicated their services while providing an enjoyable user experience.
INTRODUCTION
I redesigned Sakura Spa’s existing website, which had become outdated and difficult for users to navigate. The spa offers a wide range of wellness services, but the website's cluttered layout and overwhelming amount of text make it hard for potential clients to find relevant information. My goal was to create a clean, modern design that effectively communicated their services while providing an enjoyable user experience.
OVERVIEW
Project: Sakura Spa (© by sakura-spa.ch)
Project Type: Website Redesign (Concept)
My Role: Wireframing / Prototyping / User Interface Design
Time: March 2024
THE CHALLENGE
The original website struggled to present the spa’s extensive list of services in a user-friendly way. Too much text and too many details overwhelmed visitors, particularly first-time users. Additionally, the visual style felt inconsistent and did not reflect the calming atmosphere of the spa.
THE GOAL
The primary goal was to simplify the user experience, making it easier for potential clients to understand their services at a glance. By streamlining the content and refining the design, the website needed to attract new clients and position Sakura Spa as a trusted expert in wellness and relaxation services.
THE SOLUTION
I developed a minimalist design that conveys the same information with significantly less text, focusing on clarity and visual hierarchy. The brown and beige color palette was kept to reflect warmth, sophistication, and a natural aesthetic. The layout emphasizes spaciousness and easy navigation, ensuring that users can quickly find what they are looking for. I also designed the website to appeal slightly more to a female audience while maintaining inclusivity for all genders.
THE PROCESS
I started by analyzing the existing website to identify areas of improvement, focusing on reducing text and reorganizing the content. Next, I created wireframes to map out the new structure, prioritizing simplicity and readability. Once the layout was finalized, I incorporated the color palette and visual elements that align with the spa’s branding. Usability testing ensured that the new design was intuitive and met the needs of the target audience. The final product is a modern website that reflects Sakura Spa’s values and appeals to its clients.
